Hungarian National Gallery (Budapest) - WhichMuseum
It exhibits many Hungarian sculptures and paintings from around the 18th century to modern times. Especially the 19th Century paintings were really nice.

An uncomfortable, unpleasant and horrible experience. The Museum is fine if you speak Hungarian, this is NOT a destination for tourists! The staff are unkind, unfriendly and unapproachable. I asked the staff to buy a ticket to a different exhibition, not realising the exhibitions were separated, nor being told this at the front desk when I asked for 1 Adult ticket (They assigned me one random ticket, not explaining what it was for or any other options). They made no attempt to communicate/help me and I was pushed out. The staff glared at me whilst I was the only English speaker visiting at the time. This kind of Hungarian hospitality has put a real damper on my trip, I am writing this still in shock. Being a solo female traveller can be challenging, but this made me feel truly isolated, and unwelcome, when I actively wanted to learn about Hungarian culture. From the small amount I did see inside, very few signs have an English translation - all of the signs are in Hungarian. I would've listed 0 stars if it was possible. I wish I had seen the reviews before visiting. Workers in the tourism industry should not discriminate against English speakers. We are actively paying to visit your country, to experience what it has to offer, boosting your economy. It's astonishing the majority of staff speak no English at all.
